At Altum Risk, we are immensely proud to be part of a legacy of long-standing trust and expertise that has its beginnings more than 3 decades prior, with the establishment of Huanya Insurance Brokers in the heart of Shanghai's financial district in 1995.

Since then, the Huanya brand has expanded globally - not only becoming one of China's most trusted and well-established insurance brokers, but in 2014 also becoming the first Chinese broker to venture into the London market, and to become a Lloyd's broker, under the name Shanghai Asian Insurance Brokers (UK) Limited (SAIB UK).

Established in 2014 under our principle firm SAIB (UK), Altum Risk represents the most recent step in our journey to establish our brand within the world-leading London Market, and to expand our capacity in providing the best (re)insurance products.

1995
HUANYA INSURANCE BROKERS ESTABLISHED IN SHANGHAI
Huanya Insurance Brokers began in the heart of Shanghai's financial district as an industry pioneer in the country's rapidly growing insurance sector. Since then, it has grown into one of the longest-established, and well-known insurance broking brands in China, with regional offices across the country and an army of local expertise on a wide range of products as well as the APAC market's leading (re)insurers.
2014-16
SAIB (UK) IS ESTABLISHED AND FCA APPROVED
Shanghai Asian Insurance Brokers (UK) Limited, Altum Risks' principal firm, is established and approved by the FCA, becoming the first ever Chinese insurance broker to enter the London Market. With a well-seasoned team of experts with decades of experience in the London market, SAIB (UK)'s journey took off in the historical alleyways of Leadenhall Market, with the intention of serving the risk management needs of Chinese businesses operating in the UK. Since then, we have diversified into a far wider client base and solution range, whilst hitting many impressive milestones along the way.
2017
SAIB (UK) BECOMES FIRST EVER LLOYD'S BROKER
Our principal firm, SAIB (UK), became the world''s first Chinese Lloyd's-approved insurance broker, and thus beginning its journey to serve its customers in the world's oldest, and most prestigious insurance market.
2019
SAIB (UK) BECOMES FIRST CHINESE BROKER TO FACILITATE CAPACITY TO UK MGA
As our operations grew, SAIB (UK) hits another honourable milestone as the first ever Chinese insurance broker to facilitate capacity for a UK MGA.
2024
ALTUM RISK IS ESTABLISHED
Marking the 10th anniversary of the establishment of our principal firm, Altum Risk is established and FCA approved.
